Demetrius Tillman talks about Ironmen football

I'm currently at Vermilion College in MN going to school and playing college football. I went to South Phila High School and I graduated with honors and I also was a team captain of the 2006 southern rams football team. I receive Athlete of the year award in 2006 for southern and i also had the opportunity to play in the 2006 All-Star football game in Phila as well. Here at Vermilion i received the faculty scholarship award and on the football side of things I went all conference along with my fellow teammates from Phila as well Marquis Clark (King high), Joe Digrazio (Lincoln high) Me (Southern) that are from Philly. Being here in MN was a great opportunity to get my grades situated and to play some great football.Unfortunately i didn't have the SAT scores but i certainly had the grades and the GPA i needed just came a little short on my SAT's. I will definitely courage any student athlete to come here to VCC to stay focus, to earn a two year degree, and to play SOME GREAT IRON MEN FOOTBALL AND TO BE PART OF COACH HAINES NEW FOOTBALL PROGRAM. I was going to sign to Eaststroudsburg Uiversity, but they already had too much depth at my position , and besides i thought Lincoln University would be great fit they are going to run a offense similar to what I am use to so on the learning side of things it also will be much faster to learn the offense as well. Other reasons going to Lincoln ,it has great history to it, and i get to be part of history playing there smile. I also have a great relationship with the coaches there as well, and my parents and family will be able to come see me play and it's not far from my home place South Philly. Lastly, I thought it would be a great to earn a Degree from a HBCU.

His mind is made up!

ALL-American Linebacker makes it official- Shippensburg University

Joe DiGrazio, the Vermilion All-American linebacker, has made his decision on which school he will be attending this fall, Shippensburg University (PA). Joe had many schools that courted him to be part of their football program, so the decision was not an easy one. As the number of schools that Joe was interested in was narrowed, one school seemed to have the academic and athletic programs that Joe was looking for and that was Shippensburg. Joe is thrilled with the all opportunities that the “Ship” has offer and can not wait to get started.

The Shippensburg University coaching staff had this to say about the addition of DiGrazio to the Red Raider roster. “We are thrilled to add Joe DiGrazio to our program. With two very successful seasons at Vermilion, Joe will add experience to our defense and we expect him to compete for playing time immediately. He has a tremendous motor on the field and is a very physical football player. However, the most important thing about Joe is that he is a quality young man. Our coaching staff was attracted to his determination to succeed on and off the field. We are very anxious to get Joe on campus in August and we welcome him to our football family at Shippensburg.”

Joe was a great player and student here at Vermilion Community College and we are happy to see that he has found the right university for him. We would like to wish Joe the best of luck and everyone here will follow his progress.
